General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Command and Staff College, Quetta today. COAS said that only a secure Pakistan can be a prosperous Pakistan. Our fight against terrorism and extremism is not for today only but for our future generations, he added. Wars are not fought by Armies alone; rather it requires ‘whole of nation effort’. Our security threats are complex, multidimensional and hybrid in character. Traditional response mechanisms are therefore not relevant anymore. Note worthy achievements in operation ZeA have created a space for a decisive surge against terrorists in urban areas and environment is getting ripe for political optimization towards a meaningful and sustainable closure.
Earlier on arrival at Quetta, COAS was received by Commander Southern Command, Lieutenant General Naseer Khan Janjua.
